Shipping
We are pleased to announce that Nerd Java can now sell and ship everywhere in the USA.
Influencer:
If you are interested in partnering with us as an influencer, please check out our influencer page. We will send and ship a free sampler pack of coffee.
What are the Shipping costs?
We offer free shipping on all orders over $40 if you live in California.
Outside of California, all orders less than $40 will be required to pay for shipping.
All Wholesale orders require shipping.
For Wholesale and regular orders, we offer free local delivery, so if you are in or around the Gardena area and your address falls within our approved range, regardless of the size of the order, we will deliver free of charge.
If you feel you are in a relatively close area (~5-mile radius) and want to ask about free local delivery, please reach out. We may have missed your particular ZIP code and can add your ZIP to the approved list, and refund your shipping fee.
How long until the order will be processed?
Our typical processing time is 12-24 hours from purchase. If there are any issues with the order and we need to contact the customer, the order will be shipped within 24 hours of the issue being resolved.
Most flavors are made to order. If you have ordered one of our flavors, we will start preparing it the day we receive your order and will contact you with an update and the anticipated shipping timeline. Each flavor takes a different amount of time to create. For example, Rootbeer and Cinnamon Coffees takes 7 days to create, while Lavender Fields takes 2 days.
Additionally, roasting a fresh batch of coffee could be necessary, especially after large events. If we need to roast a fresh batch, we will ship your coffee out in 5-10 days once it has been appropriately degassed.
Dark roasts degas faster than blonde and medium roasts.
Coffee degasses faster in summer than in winter.
Please bear these differences in mind when placing orders.
We will stay in touch with you throughout the process so you always know when to anticipate receipt of your order.
What are the shipping carriers and shipping speeds?
We use Standard USPS and UPS delivery options, which typically take 3-5 shipping days to arrive anywhere in California. Outside of California, please allow 7-10 days.
If ordering over the winter holidays or Government Post Office holiday closures, shipping in California can take 5-10 days to arrive, so order as early as possible.

Do you offer expedited shipping?
If Expedited Shipping is requested, please reach out to us ASAP after placing your order and let us know; additional fees will be required.
What happens if there is a shipping delay?
If the delay is due to the carrier losing the package or an act of God, please contact the shipping carrier first with the tracking number to find out as much information as possible. After, provide us with the learned details. We will coordinate with the shipping carrier. Our goal is to find out where your package is. We will also identify when it is expected to arrive. If the package is irrevocably lost, a replacement will be shipped to the customer at no cost.
If the delay is due to Nerd Java being sold out of the item purchased, we will communicate with you ASAP to let you know the situation and the estimated TAT for processing the shipment.
Returns and Refunds
Food items are non-returnable and generally non-refundable. Exceptions to this rule are below.
If your item qualifies for refund, we will email a return shipping label within 24 hours of approval. The customer will then have 7 days (not including weekends) to drop off the package to UPS or USPS rep
What can be done if the item arrives damaged?
Two situations will qualify for refunds if communicated to us within 24 hours (one day) of receipt of the product.
- Damage to the shipping container has caused damage to the coffee bag, rendering the coffee unsanitary for consumption.
- The coffee bag was damaged during shipping, rendering the coffee unsanitary for consumption, but the box is intact
If either of the above situations occurs, please email us pictures at nerdjava.coffee@gmail.com so we can work through a resolution together.
We require photographs of the damaged product in the original packaging.
If your issue is not one of these two options, please contact nerdjava.coffee@gmail.com so we can work together to resolve.
How are cancellations handled?
Pre-Shipment: As long as the order cancellation/refund request is placed before physical shipment (which occurs approximately 12-24 hours after purchase), we will refund all purchase funds, including any shipping fees, and no shipment will be made. Note that a shipping label will be created before the actual shipment takes place; if a refund is requested during this phase, we will halt the shipment and process your refund request.
Post-Shipment: If the order has already shipped, as this is a food item, it cannot be returned, and the purchaser will be responsible for the purchase.
We understand that not all situations can be accounted for in a policy; if the customer has extenuating circumstances, please reach out to us within five days of product receipt at nerdjava.coffee@gmail.com so that we can understand your particular situation and work with you to come to a resolution that suits all parties.
