The Huehuetenango regional farms sit high in the mountains, ranging from 5,000 – 6,500 feet (2,000 masl). This region owes its rich flavor to the dry, hot winds that blow in from Mexico’s Tehuantepec Plain. Learn more about the region here.
Nerd Java and Guatemala Huehuetenango Candelaria Specialty Coffee:
This Nerd Java Guatemala HC coffee has notes of milk chocolate, almond, apricot, and brown sugar, and though it is naturally mid-acidic, it is slow-roasted to perfection, reducing the acidity to a low 7pH.
The Medium Roast is tea-like, with fruity, sweet notes, while the dark roast has rich chocolate and almond notes, with an undertone of dried fruit. The Medium roast shares similarities with the Tanzania, with an added benefit of some chocolate, albeit with distinctly different fruity notes. In contrast, the dark roast’s fruit notes are slightly more subtle, akin to chocolate with fruit embedded in its layers.
