A Nerd Java Origin Story
Nerd Java Launched in Autumn '23
Nerd Java is a small, family-run home business that offers low-acidity coffee through our extremely slow roasting and precisely timed degassing process.
We roast and flavor our coffee in small batches to ensure the most delicious and unique flavors, and then we air-seal the coffee to enhance and highlight each bean’s distinct taste.
Nerd Java sells its products on this website as well as, Amazon, Ebay, soon to be on Walmart, at local pop-up shops, and at farmers’ markets.
A Complete History
Nerd Java: In the Beginning
Nerd Java’s inception was two-fold.
Initially, PirateWorX Media developed and produced a webisode series which reviewed TV shows, movies, and video games from 2021-2022. The hosts expressed and interest in drinking actual ‘Nerd Java‘ coffee while reviewing, which launched the initial research.
Around the same time Charity, one of the founders, a working mom of two young children, was informed that she could never drink coffee again due to IBS and acid-related medical issues. Determined to help her enjoy coffee again, John and Charity set out to learn everything they could about the various methods of roasting coffee. Once John and Charity discovered the right combination of methods that did not trigger the discomfort and pain, they in turn realized that others might face similar challenges. This realization inspired them to develop Nerd Java into an official coffee brand which launched in the Autumn of 2023.

At this time we are only licensed to sell and ship within California. We have every hope of expanding our business to include the full continental US. If you have friends and family in Cali, please tell them about us, the more popular we become the faster we can expand!
We provide freshly roasted coffee beans and flavors. There may be a slight delay due to our small-batch roastery approach. Contact us before shipment for a refund if you are unhappy with any delay.
We are a business based in a home and do not have a physical store. Unfortunately, we cannot serve customers directly from our home due to our location. However, we offer shipping options and accept pre-orders for in-person events that we announce to our customer base. We will be participating in Farmers Markets and various events in and around Gardena, CA. When we have an event coming up, we offer free pick-up as an option.
Please do not worry, if you cannot make it to the IRL event that you pre-ordered for, your bag of coffee is still ready. Just contact us and we will work with you to meet at a different event, or ship your coffee instead.
