History of Fireball Coffee
We offer 3 Flavor Options: Fireball Regular, Fireball Extreme, & Fireball Extreme+
Fireball is the First Official Flavor of Nerd Java.
Fireball Coffee can be purchased in both Whole Bean and Ground bean options.
We really wanted to make an Autumnal/ Winter flavor, as that was when we were launching. The team initially wanted to do a strong and flavorful Pumpkin Spice, as we are 100% PSL fans, but the flavor was already too overdone in the industry.
There was long hours of brainstorming about various chocolate candy bars which might translate well into coffee flavors when we received a call from Charity's brother saying, for his virtual birthday, he wanted to make Hot Apples, which is red hots baked into a coreless green apple.
Then a light bulb went off...
People are loving spicy chips these days so why not make a spicy coffee?!?!!!
The idea of putting red-hots and coffee together seemed like the perfect nerdy solution. Thus began the experimentation process. After painstaking months of coffee bean flavoring experimentation we finally had that Red Hot Flavor! Then over Christmas of 2022 we took that coffee to family to try.
Charity’s Father ground the beans into an espresso shot then brewed them with a Bialetti. The sweet hot cinnamon flavor that we had created turned into a Fireball Whisky blast of flavor!
We then knew we were on the right track, but needed to create that same flavor power in a single serve pour over or K-Cup option.
Fireball coffee
An Autumnal Flavor
Fireball is a spicy treat for anyone who loves the hot cinnamon flavor of red hots, hot tamales, fireballs, and Fireball Whisky.
This is a Sugar Free coffee, though you wouldn’t believe it from tasting.
Offered in two spicy variations Regular and Extreme.
WARNING!!!!!
EXTREME Fireball is everything its name implies. This is a favorite of anyone who says “The spicier the better!”
REGULAR Fireball is a softer version which still gives you all the joy of the sweet and spicy cinnamon flavor without taking you to the brink. This version is for those who love hot cinnamon, but would rather have a pleasant sipping experience.

Fireball Coffee FAQ's and Recommendations
Our goal at Nerd Java is to make strong and flavor filled coffee. We agree that it is an intense flavor which is why we offer two versions Fireball and Fireball Extreme.
For those who need extra dimming down of flavor can do any of the following:
- Add Milk or Creamer of choice. This action will not water down the coffee as we use high quality specialty beans.
- Cut the coffee 2 parts Fireball to 1 part unflavored beans. You can use our specialty beans or any other beans you have on hand.
- Cut the coffee 1 part Fireball to 2 Parts unflavored beans. You can use our specialty beans or any other beans you have on hand.
Though no sugar is added to our flavored beans, the oil flavoring has a natural sweetness which comes through when brewed. So all you need to do is drink it black, if you dare, or add in milk/ creamer of choice.
The flavor we use for Fireball is both natural and kosher.
For our flavored beans we use both our Guatemala Kafetos and Colombia Tiple Pitalito.
We are so glad you asked! As part of our Nerdy concept we have got all the deetz for you!
See our brewing breakdown chart for detailed bean to water brewing measurements.
Though these may change with future beans and flavor offerings, for now all roasts and flavors have the same suggested measurements.
Please note that these are mere recommendations and if you prefer your brew to be made in a different method, go forth and conquer that Cup-o-Java!
